Projects
We have recently completed the Coldharbour Roundabout in Aylesford for Kent County Council so we flew a drone over the project to give a better view of what we have achieved.
We laid 8260 tonnes of asphalt, laid 1851 metres of kerbing, 1340 metres of drainage pipes, 17341 m3 of earthworks and 1182 metres of new lining and 28 new streetlights.
The works have been designed to improve traffic flows and safety using this busy roundabout linking Aylesford, Maidstone and the M20.
Last week the Coldharbour Roundabout was officially reopened, following a ten month project to increase the capacity and flows by enlarging the roundabout.
Works included earthworks, drainage, road reconstruction including new street lighting, signs and road markings.
The project required major traffic management due to its strategic position close to junction 5 of the M20 and as a major route into Maidstone and Aylesford.
Breheny project staff worked closely with Kent Police to ensure emergency access was maintained to their Headquarters close to the roundabout.
The photo shows Councillors, Officers of Kent County Council and staff from Breheny Civil Engineering at the opening ceremony.
We sent up one of our Engineering Drones to fly over the Bishops Stortford North Development where we are building the infrastructure for Bishops Stortford North Consortium.

We have recently completed phase 3 of revetment works at Shotley in Suffolk for Environment Agency working for BAM Nuttall.
The works to strengthen the sea defences included revetment repair types along the Orwell Estuary.
Repairs were predominantly riprap rock placed on top of geotextiles and placed to the seaward face of the defence using long reach excavators.
Works were delivered by Denver Smith and his team working out of our Needham Market office.
Works are nearing completion of the construction of the new S278 junction onto the westbound on slip onto the A299 Thanet Way in Herne Bay, including modifications to the Eddington Interchange Roundabout. The drone shot was taken after the HRA and SMA surfacing had been completed on the offline section of works.
We took delivery of the first FP McCann Stormtank unit today at the Blackfriars Development in Battle.
There are 2 Stormtanks which when completed shall provide 1493m3 of underground attenuation storage.
The tanks will have ponds built on top of them which form a key part of the developments Sustainable Urban Drainage System.
We are working with GTA Civils & Transport and Technical & Development Services (Southern) Ltd, working for Rother District Council.
The first of two new replacement screw pumps being lifted into place at Harty and Leysdown pumping station on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent on behalf of the Lower Medway IDB. The pump screws are being housed in a pre-cast concrete support structure to minimise the cast in-situ works and pump outage period.
We are working in close coordination with Stantec and Aquatic Control Engineering Ltd to ensure the tight programme is achieved.
Our site at Battle has been rated as ‘excellent’ by Considerate Constructors Scheme scoring 42 out of 45 marks. The Bebo Arch Bridge structure in the wetlands area of the site has a span of approximately 14m from foundation to foundation, these being CFA piles with reinforced concrete pile caps. The structure is approximately 35m wide perpendicular to the span of the arch to accommodate the carriageway, shared cycleway / footway and associated verges and embankments.
