Yesterday our Andy Newell and Leon Simpson-O’Regan attended the Rotherham Local Employment Advisory Forum (LEAF) careers event. We have been supporting this event since 2018 encouraging young people to consider a career in civil engineering and construction in support of the YORCivils3 Framework. We spoke to many students about construction and their routes to a career in the industry.

We are working for a well known papermill in Kent to strengthen the Creek walls at their Mill. We are installing twin sheet piles comprised of wailing beams and tie-rods to reinforce the creek walls. Breheny Civil Engineering Ltd were delighted to host two groups of students from West Suffolk College yesterday at our site at . The aim of the day was to provide the students an insight into site life and reinforce the importance of STEM skills within the industry and the various job roles on offer.

We had a fantastic night at the CECA Midlands awards and dinner last night. Our Eastern Green Team at Coventry won the over £3m Project of the Year. Huge congratulations to everyone involved in the project including Coventry City Council, Hallam Land and Brookbanks.

Our staff recently took part in the Bedford River Festival Dragon Boat Races. We raced for the Sue Ryder Charity raising £1300. We came in a creditable 12th place and as you can see from the photos our timing wasn’t exactly in place, but we stayed mostly dry! It was great to support the Bedford River Festival and have fun…
