Badger Mitigation, Hundred Foot Drain

Breheny have been working with the Environment Agency on the Hundred Foot Drain, as part of the AOMR Framework. There is an ongoing requirement to exclude badgers from the South Level Barrier Bank (SLBB) to ensure the integrity of the flood defence embankment is not reduced by burrowing animals.

Liaising with Nurture Group and taking direction from a licensed badger specialist, we have created an artificial badger sett to encourage the badgers to migrate to the new alternative sett located away from the barrier bank.

The works also included the installation of subterranean badger proof mesh to create a barrier, preventing badgers from burrowing into the South Level Barrier Bank.

The works are managed by Dean Evans and his highly skilled experienced team.
