We recently had the opportunity to capture some long exposure night-time photography of our work at the A16 Greencell Roundabout in Pinchbeck, near Spalding, Lincolnshire.
These striking images showcase the project in action—highlighting how traffic flows smoothly around the upgraded roundabout, with light trails capturing the movement and efficiency we aimed to achieve.
We recently completed improvement works for Lincolnshire County Council at the A16 / B1180 Greencell Roundabout at Pinchbeck, Spalding.
The project has widened the existing roundabout and added additional lanes to increase capacity and reduce congestion at this busy junction.
In addition to the widening of embankments, installation of new drainage, replacement of street lighting and expansion of previous VRS the project also saw over 1km of the A16 resurfaced and drainage system maintained between Greencell and the nearby Springfields roundabouts.
We have started works on the Alconbury Weald Southern Gateway project on behalf of Urban & Civic.
To commemorate the occasion a sod turning ceremony took place with members of Breheny, Urban & Civic and the Local Authority in attendance.
The Gateway project will provide a vital piece of infrastructure linking the A141 to the new Alconbury Weald development.
As part of the works, we’ll be constructing 2km of new carriageway/ footways as well as a new S278 junction on the A141.
Works are underway and are due to be completed in November 2025.
Breheny are working for Lincolnshire County Council to deliver upgrades to the Pinchbeck Roundabout funded by the Government’s Levelling up Fund.
This project is helping to reduce congestion on the A16 between Spalding and Boston and improve access for the many fresh produce supply chains based in Spalding’s industrial areas off the B1180.
We are pleased to share that we have been appointed onto Lots 1 and 2 of the Eastern Highways Alliance (EHA) Framework.
We are looking forward to working with the Council’s to develop and deliver a first-class programme of highways improvements across East Anglia from our local offices in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
We will be looking to use our BCIRT Carbon reporting system to measure CO2e on this Framework in line with our recent verification of PAS2080 Carbon Management in Infrastructure.
You can’t beat a bit of long exposure night time photography, so we thought we would try it out at Eastern Green in Coventry, where we built the new overbridge for Hallam Land and Coventry City Council.
The 36m span bridge, over the A45 dual carriageway and the associated infrastructure won the Ceca Midlands project of the year (over £3m).
Works are continuing at good speed despite the cold winter weather in Angmering, West Sussex on behalf of Cala Homes.
This 40 week project started in September 2024 were we are installing sheet piling, box culverts and insitu headwalls acting as preliminary work enabling widening of the existing junction of the A280 and Water Lane.
We have recently completed the Coldharbour Roundabout in Aylesford for Kent County Council so we flew a drone over the project to give a better view of what we have achieved.
We laid 8260 tonnes of asphalt, laid 1851 metres of kerbing, 1340 metres of drainage pipes, 17341 m3 of earthworks and 1182 metres of new lining and 28 new streetlights.
The works have been designed to improve traffic flows and safety using this busy roundabout linking Aylesford, Maidstone and the M20.
Last week the Coldharbour Roundabout was officially reopened, following a ten month project to increase the capacity and flows by enlarging the roundabout.
Works included earthworks, drainage, road reconstruction including new street lighting, signs and road markings.
The project required major traffic management due to its strategic position close to junction 5 of the M20 and as a major route into Maidstone and Aylesford.
Breheny project staff worked closely with Kent Police to ensure emergency access was maintained to their Headquarters close to the roundabout.

We sent up one of our Engineering Drones to fly over the Bishops Stortford North Development where we are building the infrastructure for Bishops Stortford North Consortium.
During the two and a half years we have been on the project we have constructed: Three Bridges spanning 25m each over a water course and new Greenway Footpaths, Cut and Fill earthworks, Drainage systems including 2000m of Foul Water and 2000m of Storm Water, 4000m of Filter Drains and Swales, a new roundabout, 3000m of New Roads, 5000m of New Carriageway Footpaths, 3000m of New utilities including Directional Drill under a live water course Water, Gas, Electric and Foul Water pipelines, 3no HV diversions and a trunk water main diversion, 2no S278 junctions, 700m of VRS and 3000m of Greenway/POS Footpaths.
