February's Bright Idea's Winner!

Bright Ideas Winner of the Month: Mick Walker

Congratulations to Mick Walker, a BCE Foreman currently working on Alconbury Gateway, for being this month’s Bright Ideas winner!

Mick proposed the creation of a business card containing essential emergency details and contact information for working around services, particularly overheads. The card is distributed to new inductees or when new work begins, ensuring that everyone on site has quick access to vital information.

The card includes:

✅ Pole locations

✅ What3words coordinates

✅ Contact details for BCE supervision

To make this solution easily accessible, the business cards can be designed using the Avery Business Card template, which is free to use online. Sites simply need to purchase the compatible template paper, which is readily available, and print the cards using the Konica Minolta site printers.

Nick Harris, BCE SHEQ Advisor, praised Mick’s proactive approach:

“Not only is it easy to create and simple, but it also offers everyone involved within the works area an extra layer of protection and information. Being proactive is something we should encourage at all times.”
