Bishops Stortford North Development

We sent up one of our Engineering Drones to fly over the Bishops Stortford North Development where we are building the infrastructure for Bishops Stortford North Consortium.

During the two and a half years we have been on the project we have constructed: Three Bridges spanning 25m each over a water course and new Greenway Footpaths, Cut and Fill earthworks, Drainage systems including 2000m of Foul Water and 2000m of Storm Water, 4000m of Filter Drains and Swales, a new roundabout, 3000m of New Roads, 5000m of New Carriageway Footpaths, 3000m of New utilities including Directional Drill under a live water course Water, Gas, Electric and Foul Water pipelines, 3no HV diversions and a trunk water main diversion, 2no S278 junctions, 700m of VRS and 3000m of Greenway/POS Footpaths.

PHASE 3, SHOTLEY REVETMENT WORKS

We have recently completed phase 3 of revetment works at Shotley in Suffolk for Environment Agency working for BAM Nuttall.

The works to strengthen the sea defences included revetment repair types along the Orwell Estuary. 

Repairs were predominantly riprap rock placed on top of geotextiles and placed to the seaward face of the defence using long reach excavators. 

Works were delivered by Denver Smith and his team working out of our Needham Market office.

New S278 Junction, Herne Bay

Works are nearing completion of the construction of the new S278 junction onto the westbound on slip onto the A299 Thanet Way in Herne Bay, including modifications to the Eddington Interchange Roundabout. The drone shot was taken after the HRA and SMA surfacing had been completed on the offline section of works.

Blackfriars, Battle

We took delivery of the first FP McCann Stormtank unit today at the Blackfriars Development in Battle.
There are 2 Stormtanks which when completed shall provide 1493m3 of underground attenuation storage.
The tanks will have ponds built on top of them which form a key part of the developments Sustainable Urban Drainage System.
We are working with GTA Civils & Transport and Technical & Development Services (Southern) Ltd,  working for Rother District Council.

Harty and Leysdown Pumping Station

The first of two new replacement screw pumps being lifted into place at Harty and Leysdown pumping station on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent on behalf of the Lower Medway IDB. The pump screws are being housed in a pre-cast concrete support structure to minimise the cast in-situ works and pump outage period.

We are working in close coordination with Stantec and Aquatic Control Engineering Ltd to ensure the tight programme is achieved.

Battle

Our site at Battle has been rated as ‘excellent’ by Considerate Constructors Scheme scoring 42 out of 45 marks. Exceptional site safety, care of the environment and staff wellbeing were highlighted by the Considerate Constructors Monitor. Congratulations to the site team especially Site Agent Harayshan Pirabaharan and General Foreman Gareth Williams

We took the drone up to get an overview of the site progress achieved to date.

Eastern Green, Coventry

We recently saw the official opening of the Eastern Green site in Coventry. 

The project was delivered for Coventry City Council and Hallam Land, the project involved the construction of infrastructure for over 3000 homes and 15 hectares of commercial development land.

 A new grade separated junction was built to provide access to and from the A45. 

Staff from Hallam Land, Coventry City Council and Breheny Civil Engineering attended the opening with elected members from Coventry City Council.

HAMPTON PARK, LITTLEHAMPTON WEST SUSSEX

Our client, Persimmon Homes will be opening the final section of our  Phase 5 project at Hampton Park in Littlehampton West Sussex on Saturday 20th July.
The Bebo Arch Bridge structure in the wetlands area of the site has a span of approximately 14m from foundation to foundation, these being CFA piles with reinforced concrete pile caps. The structure is approximately 35m wide perpendicular to the span of the arch to accommodate the carriageway, shared cycleway / footway and associated verges and embankments.

Lynchgate, Coventry

Breheny Civil Engineering, in collaboration with Coventry City Council, have completed the first section of a 500m segregated bi-directional cycle route with grade-separated footway, which forms part of National Cycle Network Route 52.
