Cambridge Services
Client – Extra Services
As part of an upgrading of facilities at Cambridge Services we were contracted to build a new HCV parking area and reconstruction of an existing car park.
The work included the removal of existing asphalt and laying of capping, a new sub-base and asphalt layers with associated white lining. The drainage included the installation of a 1040 cubic metre membrane wrapped crate system attenuation tank and associated surface water drainage. Service diversions were delivered prior to work commencement. The total areas of reconstruction and resurfacing was 26,000 metres square. We worked with a membrane specialist to reinforce the sub-base to improve the bearing capacity of the pavement.
A major part of the project was traffic management within the site, with the Services remaining open at all times during the construction period. Traffic was monitored to ensure access to all parts of the Service Area was maintained.
