Blackfriars Battle

We’re proud to announce the successful completion of our works at the Blackfriars Battle site.

The final section of the spine road is now in place, following the installation of a reinforced embankment and a pond constructed above a StormTank™ attenuation tank. This solution delivers both effective drainage and seamless connectivity across the undulating site.

In August 2024 the site was rated as ‘excellent’ by Considerate Constructors Scheme scoring 42 out of 45 marks. Exceptional site safety, care of the environment and staff wellbeing were highlighted by the Considerate Constructors Monitor. Congratulations to the site team especially Site Agent Harayshan Pirabaharan and General Foreman Gareth Williams.

We took delivery of the first FP McCann Stormtank unit at the Blackfriars Development in Battle in September 2024. There are 2 Stormtanks which shall provide 1493m3 of underground attenuation storage. The tanks have ponds built on top of them which form a key part of the developments Sustainable Urban Drainage System. We are working with GTA Civils & Transport and Technical & Development Services (Southern) Ltd, working for Rother District Council.

A great example of collaborative delivery and smart engineering – well done to everyone involved!
